如何免費參加Medicare Part A？

美國醫療條件優越吸引了許多華人，夢想來美國等候政府幫忙養老，但是有些人到了退休後竟發現政府其實並沒有任何資助，於是會開始抱怨，殊不知在美國政府養老是有條件的，並不是所謂的“免費”。

 

美國政府老人保險簡稱Medicare，分為A部分和B部分保障，而人們所認知的“免費”部分通常是指A部分，但這優惠並不是所有人都能享有的，而是需在美國工作並報稅滿10年及累積40個工作積點才可免費。

 

根據社安局“How you earn credits 2020”規定2020年1點是$1410，也就是說如果想要滿足一年最高4積點的要求，收入必須在$1410*4=$5640以上才可以。注意這裡的收入是指工作收入(例如W-2和1099-Misc)特別注意不是所有收入並不包括在內，詳情可咨詢專業會計師為您解答。

 

而若一年有5，6萬收入，積點可更多嗎？答案是“不能”。因這4個積點對於百萬富翁或平凡的你我都一視同仁，一年最高就4個積點。點數不夠亦可向美國政府購買。
